Meeting Brent's Data double in 1998. Hey look its Data, Spot, Mr.Tricorder and I in toon verison

What Brent said when asked about meeting his 'double' who is pictured with me above :
Q:) what was that like for you?
A:) Frightening! ............... it was extraordinary. He looks almost exactly like me except that he’s nowhere near as attractive!

Greetings!!!

My name is Laura Elliott and I am 27 years old (born: 19/12/76) from Great Britain. Yes, that is me in the pictures above.

I have been a Star Trek fan since I was about 5 years old having spent countless nights watch Kirk's adventures in 'The Original Series'. I became addicted and a fan of 'The Next Generation' when it premiered in 1988 on BBC2. After a couple of years I became a big fan of Data, and later on Brent Spiner.

My Nickname (lustchip):

I chose a nickname to use as a Brently ID and possible chat room name from something Brent said. Someone asked him at a con about the emotion chip, First Contact and the Borg Queen. He said some bits about it and at the end he said grinning that he cant wait until the lustchip is installed. It made me laugh and I decided to take it as my nick! So I am also known as 'The Lustchip'.

Community:

In 1996 I joined BDFT (Brent Dedicated Fan Troupe) a private Brent Spiner mailing list to meet and chat with other Brent Spiner fans and I have been a member ever since. I also have been, and still am from time to time, a member of FOBS (Friends of Brent Spiner) and recently joined Brent Watch 2000 and BSCCF (Brent Spiner Cozy Corner Forum) which are at Yahoo! Groups, and have enjoyed chatting to other Brently fans. I am also a recent member of BrentSpiner.net posting under the ID of lustchip.

History of Laura's Brent Spiner Site:

Laura's Brent Spiner Site was my first foray into web design and the Internet. I taught myself html coding and began to write the pages in html only. It has to be said my first pages were very poor but the site has progressed in leaps and bounds to what you see before you today. My aim with the site was to keep it running, try to add as much as possible when I could, for it to be extremely simple design and easy to navigate. I also feel that community is important and that having a site is a great way for other fans to express their respect and meet another fan.

I ran for a period the domain lustchip.com around 1999 but, due to the connotations linked the word 'lust', I decided to chose a alternative domain name and therefore elliottsweb.co.uk was born! The site has also been at Geocities ( but I hate the pop-ups), a couple of other private addresses so it has been moving around. Despite these changes people have been able to find my sites as I have listed it in as many free search engines as possible.

Active or an archive?

That is changeable depending on how much time I have as I am studying an 'Art and Media BA (Hons)' degree (started degree 2003 until 2006). I feel that adding small items and making sure your site is easy to find and navigate is important. I fully intend to keeping adding but it is slow progress! Years ago I aimed to create a Website award but life forced it to the back burner until I had some time recently. I have now added it to my site so if you have a related site then go and have a look.

Have I met Brent?

Yup! A few times, but nothing impressive like a proper conversation I am just the same as many others, a hello and autograph meeting.

Photographs:

These images above are two underexposed images I have when Brent was outside the Roundabout theaterand I asked him to sign an autograph for me, in New York , 1997. This was when hee was in the play 1776 playing John Adams.

In 1999 I attended a convention where Brent and Patrick Stewart appeared and I met with friends from BDFT and FOBS. A few of us gave him a CD Olivia had made for him:

I hope you enjoy your visit to Laura's Brent Spiner Site and will visit me again!

Feel free to sign my guestbook or e-mail me privately if you wish to say 'hello'.
